Democratic Rep. Brenda Lawrence has abruptly announced she does not see the value of impeaching the president during an election year.
The Michigan representative, who has previously supported Sen. Kamala Harris calls for impeachment, made the announcement on Sunday in a Michigan radio interview.
We are so close to an election, Lawrence said on No BS News Hour. I will tell you, sitting here knowing how divided this country is, I dont see the value of taking him out of office.
But I do see the value of putting down a marker saying his behavior is not acceptable. Its in violation of office and of the oath of office of a president of the United States, and we have to be clear that you cannot use your power of the presidency to withhold funds to get a foreign country to investigate an American citizen for your own personal gain. Theres no way around that.
Instead of kicking Trump out of office, Lawrence says she wants to have a discussion with the rest of her party and caucus to censure the president.
I want him censured. I want it on the record that the House of Representatives did their job and they told this president and any president coming behind him that this is unacceptable behavior and, under our Constitution, we will not allow it, she said.
I am a Democrat, but I am an independent United States of America citizen.
Lawrences announcement comes on the heels of polls showing that support for impeachment has slipped significantly.

I'm sure that is just a coinkydink,though.
Coinkydinks seem to be multiplying. Seems like I read of another Dim doing the same thing a couple of days ago.
I suspect that by Christmas it will have be an epidemic.

I saw something from Bill Moyers who has covered the impeachments of Nixon and Clinton. He said that Nixon never admitted his guilt but Trump has.
I wish someone could show me where this has happened.
Maybe what Trump needs is to pull off another Saturday Night Massacre like Nixon did if it has gone to this extreme. ;)

We keep wondering how Jeffery Epstein committed suicide even though he was on suicide watch.
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving Doug. ;)

Yes, an older friend (he is 82) picked me up and we drove over to the Baptist church where they give a big feed every year.
Christmas will be at the Methodist church and I can walk there since it is about a mile to get there from where I live.

They hate him because he is an outsider that DARED to come in out of the blue and snatch the crown.
Trump could pour gasoline over his head and light a match, and it wouldn't be enough to satisfy these people.
With any luck at all they will become overbearingly suicidal right after the 2020 elections.

No funds were withheld from Ukraine. They got all of it without doing anything and no money was even discussed in President Trump's conversation with Ukraine's President, Zelensky. Maybe she's confusing President Trump with Joe Biden's threat to withhold funds of $1b and confusing investigations of American citizens for personal-Party gain with Obama's Democrat administration designers of the Russiagate Hoax. Trump did his job in accordance with his Executive Branch Law Enforcement Power per his Treaty Law Enforcement Power, which the House of Representatives has no authority to obstruct or punish him for doing thoroughly. Congresspersons aren't supposed be there just because they won a "popularity contest". She should go back to being a non-politician because every Democrat in Congress seems to be a Constitution ignoramus who ought to be censured and expelled immediately for duping and defrauding voters as if they were somehow qualified to represent the Constitution correctly for them + billed for reimbursement of the taxpayer funds they've wasted on all of their nonsense since Trump became the Republican nominee for the 2016 election.
