Tazewell County joined the ranks of “Second Amendment Sanctuary” counties on Tuesday — and took it one step further.
Before a crowd of more than 200, the Board of Supervisors unanimously passed two resolutions during their meeting on Tuesday night. The Second Amendment Sanctuary resolution and a resolution promoting the order of militia within Tazewell County both passed to loud cheers from a crowd that overflowed the 189-seat board room.
Board Chairman Travis Hackworth announced at the beginning of the meeting that both resolutions would be unanimously passed. The militia resolution was approved on a poll earlier this month, but county residents via Facebook and other means kept asking for the sanctuary resolution as well.

County has population of 41,000, borders West Virginia and is a little over 96% white. Sheriff's posse might be better than a militia. Trump scored almost 82% of the vote in 2016.

It's not a matter of one or the other, imo. If it was, it's the Militia that is mandated as Law Enforcement by the Constitution. The Sheriff should be serving in the Militia, too (if within the age bracket), and the Militia would be able to serve in the capacity of Sheriff's posse as needed.

Militias are the Military Defense Forces of their States -- every American male that meets the age-criteria and can pass muster/review (for various troop categories, armed or unarmed), not just those who volunteer for Federal-level Joint-Task Force duties as National Guards. That is the law of the Constitution, as well as Federal law. They're all supposed to be Militarily trained and equipped for such Defense of State and Domestic National Security assignments, as well as that is possible.

The Bearded Bandit was a bank robber in Chicago area. One time he shot a Palatine cop with an Australian Semi-auto pistol (,223) during a traffic stop.
They showed a picture in the local newspaper (Daily Herald) of a Palatine cop carrying an MP-5 9mm when searching for him. I assume it was selective fire.
After they caught him he was put in the Federal lockup in the Dirksen Building in downtown Chicago. A buddy of mine, his Dad was a Deputy U.S. Marshal. He killed the Bearded Bandit on the parking ramp of the Dirksen Building when he was trying to escape.
I knew the guy who sold that Australian Semi-auto pistol to him at a gun show.
Believe me they can trace these things right back to where they came from if the proper paperwork is filled out.
Of course the bad guys don't give a shit about paperwork. ;)
