I have friends that are white, well off, highly educated...THAT WILL VOTE STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT TICKET...they are dyed in the wool democrats.
Voting for a republican or independent would be impossible.

My father was one of these "dyed in the wool democrats" because his generation could still perceive some normal democrats in leadership roles. That is, having been brought up in a political climate that considered the dems the working man's party. I remember him telling me that his mother really appreciated FDR for distributing outhouses that the wind wouldn't blow through, and electricity being more widely distributed. Today, some folks cling to the voting pattern of their parents that are carrying on the voting traditions of the grand-parents. The depression had a lasting effect upon the grandparents that believed FDR brought them out of it.
One day I mentioned to my dad that almost all of working class Washington D.C. were democrats. He replied "so what" ! I said look at the demographics of D.C. and you'll see it's over half black and the rest are communists and queers, which of these groups define you ? He responded again with the Dems stand for the little guy. The situation was hopeless.
Trump will get re-elected unless they kill him.
I think it's funny that for the first time in my lifetime a man occupies the Oval Office that isn't 100% an ass kissing politically correct pussy, unafraid to speak his mind even though he's not always right or in lock step agreement with his own party. The successes and failures of his administration can be argued about any way the debaters wish to spin it, but it cannot be denied that Trump will speak his mind and to date he has beat the living shit out of his detractors.
Trumps claim to drain the swamp might be a shared operation with the people ! His re-election by a landslide might also flush the swamp toilet in a more righteous way than if he just started firing the swamp creatures and instead lets the American people help him reduce the reptile population in D.C.
