I do not think 16 years in the slammer over this will change a thing. And I think the sentence was indeed excessive.

I worked for the fag florist in Chicago as a young man making deliveries and setting up Jewish weddings and parties like Bar Mitzvahs. The owner, book keeper and all the designers were fags. Only the two delivery guys were straight. They always wanted me to march in the gay day parade on Clark St. but I never would because I wasn't that way.

The owner was a millionaire already in the late 70s. The corporation was disbanded in 1998. I wonder who the other delivery guy is working for now? Maybe he is dead too. That guy was paying $7.50/hr back in the 70s.

We did a lot of Midnight pick ups at places like the Ambassador West Hotel. One time this guy that was with me starts to take center pieces off tables when they were still dancing. I stopped him and told him, "You can't do that when they are still dancing." He said, "I'm going out for a beer." He never came back and I had to get all that equipment out of there on my own.
