Hank Berrein from The Daily Wire reports, On Wednesday, a scholar who worked as part of Hillary Clinton’s foreign policy advisory group on Iran slammed former President Obama for his laziness in helping the Iranian people who tried to start an uprising against the despotic Iranian regime in 2009.

When Bush I invaded Kuwait in Gulf War I, he stopped short of invading Iraq. But he was criticized at the time for broadcasting a statement to the Iraqi people that was interpreted as a support statement for overthrowing Saddam. That statement resulted in an ill-prepared and underpowered revolt against Saddam, which was not physically supported by the US military, and quickly crushed and those who rebelled were prosecuted accordingly.

The moral of that story was that leaders should be careful in voicing encouragement to a foreign population to overthrow their sitting gov.

But...was an "interpretation" of Poppy B's supposedly signaling imminent support to the Kurds merely some kind of "Mandela Effect"? What did happen?

If my memory is correct, Poppy by most accounts strongly misled Kurdish resistance back-channels into believing overwhelming American help would indeed follow their lead against Saddam's forces...

Of course Poppy pulled a Bay of Pigs PT 2 on them, American military muscle never joined the fray, and the Kurds were hung out to dry and slaughtered.
