I’ll be honest - as an epidemiologist, I’m really deeply worried about this new coronavirus outbreak. 1) the virus has an upward infection trajectory curve much steeper than SARS. 2) it can be transmitted person to person before symptoms appear — I.e. it is silently contagious!

It takes 5 days to show symptoms so many more have the disease and have transmitted it to others. Chinese New Year started yesterday. It lasts until early February. And give them 5 days to show symptoms by the end of their holiday. We can check and see how far the virus has spread by mid February.
