Rush Limbaugh is the king of talk radio.

But now his future is in doubt.

And that’s because Rush Limbaugh left jaws on the ground with this cancer announcement.

Rush Limbaugh recently signed a four year contract extension that would keep his show on the air through 2024.

But that stability was upset when Limbaugh shocked listeners at the end of his show on Monday by announcing doctors diagnosed him with advanced lung cancer.

“It’s a struggle for me because I had to inform my staff earlier today. I can’t escape . . . Even though people are telling me it’s not the way to look at it, I can’t help but feel that I’m letting everybody down with this. But the upshot is that I have been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer, diagnosis confirmed by two medical institutions back on January 20. I first realized something was wrong on my birthday weekend, January 12,” Limbaugh stated.

Limbaugh went on to inform his audience that this diagnosis did not mean the end of his show.

In fact, Limbaugh explained that he intended to fight the disease and continue on the air.

“So this has happened, and my intention is to come here every day I can and to do this program as normally and as competently and as expertly as I do each and every day, because that is the source of my greatest satisfaction professionally, personally. I’ve had so much support from family and friends during this that it’s just been tremendous. I told the staff today that I have a deeply personal relationship with God that I do not proselytize about,” Limbaugh added.

Limbaugh also said he would take a couple of days off for treatment but would return to his show by the end of the week.

As soon as Limbaugh announced his diagnosis thoughts and prayers poured in from Limbaugh’s fans, fellow media members, politicians, and even some detractors.
