The whole Mormon conception of the world has always struck me as resulting from some pretty outlandish propositions.

I don't understand it at all, but it does support an unusually strong social network that holds things together for those people politically. What can you say? Living in this land of ours requires that you accept living cheek by jowl with people you differ from significantly in terms of beliefs and background. If you have a beef with that you might as well piss off and go live somewheres else.

Anyway, lots of polling tells us that President Trump is generally more popular that Senator Romney these days. That must sting bunch as Romney is one egotistical son of a bitch. He hypes his opposition to the guy in the White House as founded in his "deeply held" faith - at least that's what sympathetic scribblers tell their reader.

I have my grave doubts that much of anything that goes on in Washington is driven by conviction. But maybe Mittens does believe in the prediction that one day a Mormon savior will rescue that Constitution and a nation perilously hanging by a thread. Maybe he believes he will be that deliverer himself. Folks believe in all kind of crazy stuff.

Romney is insanely jealous of Trump, he has corrupt confederates who've had their fat fingers in the Ukraine cookie jar, and some folks say, he's perhaps angling for a wild card ticket in the fall with Mini Mike Bloomberg.
