Democrats in the Arizona Senate are pushing legislation that requires “assault weapons” throughout the state to be registered or surrendered.

The legislation, SB 1625, also provides the third option of rendering the firearm inoperable.

Moreover, the text of SB 1625 makes clear that the legislation ends not simply the ownership of “assault weapons,” but the manufacture of said firearms as well. An exception for manufacturing is provided for those making guns for police or military.

Well, passage of that legislation oughta do wonders for the employment numbers in Prescott (Sturm- Ruger).

Arizona has changed since illegal came to a near majority. Whites in the old days were descendants of Civil War veterans.

Back in the old militia days many open carried in AZ. Everywhere one went there were people openly packing side arms of all kinds ... and no one was bothered by it. So what is really going on.

I think AZ is one of the last places that will comply with the register or surrender nonsense.

I helped my sister drive across country in 2001. In those days you could open carry a weapon into a store. That store was on the outskirts of Flagstaff where my sister lived. She had coyotes, mountain lions and rattlesnakes within a mile.
