I'm on a funny streak. Suppose Joe Biden gets indicted and pleads mental incopetence to stand trial at his extradition hearing. He wins his case and loses the nomination. "If you're too crazy to be tried, you are too incompetent to be President. So Hillary gets the nomination, Antifa burns Milwaukee to the ground and Hillary selects Bloomberg and a billion dollars to be her Veep. Then in October, Hillary is indicted, takes a plea deal and Bloomie runs for Prez doing worse than Mondale vs Reagan in 1984.

Admit it: If I had written this 4 years ago, you would scratch your head. But today all of the above is possible.

Something like that, yeah. Though I might suggest Biden wins the nomination first, then gets indicted and withdraws, then Hillary gets the nomination and then she gets indicted and fired from the position. Then after the DNC sees the trainwreck they created, they go ahead and give it to Sanders because they'll know he'll lose to Trump and be out of politics for life which would be the best silver lining they can salvage out of the whole mess.

As things stand now, it seems unquestionable Trump would win. A wildcard is the virus and economy between now and then. Economic downturns are routinely blamed on the president, whether justly or unjustly, and how much of an impact the virus might have on the economy is a question. It could be huge, and may even prove to be the catalyst of economic downfall that many of us have been expecting to happen for decades and longer. All the debt, petrodollar and so on that has all been propped up to uphold dollar supremacy could all be undone at once.
