No wonder so many Millennials prefer Bernie Sanders and AOC. The teachers unions deliberately dumbed these idiots down.

The teachers unions deliberately dumbed these idiots down.

Don't let them hear that in Chicago. The CTU is one of the few pension funds that did not lose money on their investments.

State employees (SERS) had to take 20% cut on pensions. ;)

Midway through her teaching career, my mom the home-ec teacher, realized that her students needed much more real life instruction on what they'd soon be facing.

She brought in doctors, lawyers, accountants, Social Security people, bankers, insurance people, and who knows what other professionals to try and let the kids know a few of the things that they'd have to deal with in real life, real time.

She was more proud of that than the cooking, sewing, and whatever else was in the text-book curriculum.

Your Mom was good at her job and she realized the shortcomings of the standard home-ec class. ;)

Most schools teach literally nothing about what kids need to know when they get out own their own, literally nothing. imo and from my own experience(s).

When I was in 4th grade, the Nun was asking everyone what they wanted to be when they grew up.

When it was my turn I said I wanted to be a farmer. All the kids laughed.

I ended up being a truck driver and road worker.

Thank a trucker if you eat or wear anything since it likely came in on a truck. Even flowers have to come in on trucks. One florist I worked for we would go directly to the airport and pick up several boxes of flowers that came in on a plane. They did have the markets too on Randolph St in Chicago.

But this particular florist shop had 3 delivery drivers. One morning we were standing in the back of the shop. One of the drivers said, "The next one to look over here and smiles gives head tonight." Just then Laurie Stomponato looked over and smiled and we all cracked up. ROTFLMAO!
