Specific countries that suffer from high incidence of vitamin D deficiency include England, Germany, France, and Finland. The elderly population of the northern Scandinavian region is also deficient in D vitamins.
In the Americas, the United States has the lowest cases of vitamin D deficiency. This can be indirectly attributed to the popularization and mass production of vitamin D fortified milk, butter and yogurt. However, cases of mild deficiency usually rise as the winter season sets in.
In northern Italy, it has been documented that 38 percent of women population have mild vitamin D insufficiency. In the Mediterranean, the frequency of D vitamin deficiency is fairly high especially among Greek women even though the region is teeming with fatty fish and enjoys enough sunlight.

When I worked for State of Illinois, I was flagging and wearing my straw cowboy hat. The Engineer pulled up in his air conditioned car and rolled the window down about six inches and said, "Where is your hard hat?" I said, "In the truck." He said, "Go and get it." I did and put it on top of my cowboy hat. ROTFLMAO!
