New York's Attorney General Letitia James sent a cease-and-desist order to televangelist Jim Bakker, ordering him to stop promoting an alleged cure for coronavirus, reported ABC News.

In early February, on the "The Jim Bakker Show," guest Sherrill Sellman claimed that "Silver Solution" is a remedy for the deadly coronavirus, that at the time, was spreading across China. Here's a snippet of the broadcast:

Right Wing Watch ✔ @RightWingWatch

Jim Bakker is standing by the claims he has made about the silver solution he sells ... and he's willing to sell you a case of it for just $300.

https://twitter.com/i/status/1234544536875098112

"Your show's segment may mislead consumers as to the effectiveness of the Silver Solution product in protecting against the current outbreak," the cease-and-desist order said. "Any representation on the Jim Bakker Show that its Silver Solution products are effective at combating and/or treating the 2019 novel coronavirus violates New York law."

James' office asked Bakker to add a disclaimer on all Silver Solution products of how the FDA has not evaluated the product's effectiveness against the virus.

"In addition to being mindful about our health, we must also beware of unscrupulous actors who attempt to take advantage of this fear and anxiety to scam or deceive consumers," James said in a statement.

Dr. Peter Lurie, president of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, told Inside Edition that Bakker's Silver Solution is nothing more than snake oil.

"It's an absolute outrage that they're pushing this product. There's no proof about its effectiveness," Lurie said. "Stay away from the product. All you're doing is wasting your money!"

Lurie has been petitioning the FDA and FTC to take action against Bakker "to halt this fraud on the public."

Back in 2018, Bakker was pumping an imminent apocalypse, selling boatloads of doomsday prepper food kits.

Capitalizing on fear is big business for Bakker as it appears his followers now have a 'magic coronavirus cure' and doomsday prepper food kits for the virus crisis sweeping across America that could soon be labeled a pandemic.

BigPharma hates competition, and that's not an awful price for his silver.

It is if you take too much and it turns your skin blue forever.

Ah, hell. I guess it might look good on some of the young punks with their pink and blue hair.

I'll stick with brown & grey, they're neutral and pretty much go with everything!

I'm guessing that's colloidal silver being sold. I've been researching that and even making some. It's not hard. For maybe $50 you can get the stuff together to make it yourself, and probably closer to half that. It's more investment in research time and trouble than money, but $300 for 12 bottles is quite a donation.

From what I've read, the condition called Argyria where the skin turns blue is a hazard if it's not made with distilled water. Using tap water causes the silver to chemically bind with the impurities which sets the stage for it, but even then, you have to take a lot of it. And it's not necessarily permanent. One source claims that if you do turn blue, consuming properly made CS with distilled water can reverse it, though it takes a long time. True? I don't know. And don't plan to test the theory.

Still new at this but the stuff is cheap and easy enough to make to make it worth giving a try.

The one and only time I tried colloidal silver, I lost half the vision in both eyes for about 20 minutes the next morning. A jagged line down the center of my field of vision; could see on one side of the line, and totally blind on the other. Distressing.

The following day the ophthalmologist's diagnosis was ocular migraine. I didn't mention the silver. I had no prior history of migraine of any type.

So I'm leery of colloidal silver; never tried it again.

That's peculiar. Though one reaction that can happen when someone consumes something like this that kills off long standing pathogens is a "die-off effect". The body has adapted to the presence of such things and gets along just fine without killing them off. Then something comes along and wipes them out and the body has a WTF moment, which may be due to the sudden dump of dead pathogen stuff that floods the blood stream. So maybe that's what you experienced, though I wouldn't have a clue on the mechanics of how it would make you experience partial and, presumably, temporary blindness.

The following day the ophthalmologist's diagnosis was ocular migraine. I didn't mention the silver. I had no prior history of migraine of any type.

Well, I tried some of my brew a couple days ago and didn't go blind. Maybe I didn't make it right.

Your pathogen die-off hypothesis is interesting. I've heard of that effect, but never considered it in my case.

Thanks. That's the 3rd source I've seen that attributes blue skin to impurities in water at the time the CS is made. Sure, buying it from a reputable company may be the most prudent course, but depends on how available it is, and how affordable it is. I will say that the article says:

The product in the article sells for $125 (£95) but high quality colloidal silver can also be sourced from reputable sellers in the UK who ship globally – for as little as £9.99 for a 15ml bottle.

$12 for a 15ml bottle is horribly expensive. 15ml is a tiny bottle. Very tiny. The average adult mouth could probably hold about 40 ml.

Sure quality is important, but when you do it yourself, you just gotta get educated. All you need to make it is a 12 volt transformer, a jar, pure silver wire (visit a jewelry store), alligator clips, and some empty wine or beer bottles to store it in. With toppers. A few other odds and ends too, but doing the research is the biggest investment.

I am quite curious as to what happened to you. How long did it take for your vision to return to normal, and what was it like as it happened?

I got the silver solution from an old lady at church. I think she home- brewed it, but I'm not sure of that. I don't remember exactly how much I drank, but it wasn't more than a few ounces. A single dose, as I recall.

The next day, the onset was pretty sudden. I was reading, and over a period of maybe a minute or two, half the page -- half of my vision -- just disappeared, eclipsed by a great gray blob. Lasted about 20 minutes before recovery commenced. Then vision gradually returned to normal over about an hour.

I had experienced some considerable physical and psycho-emotional trauma the previous few days, and the doctor attributed the presumed ocular migraine to that.

This happened 25 years ago. Since then the condition has twice re- occurred, but only briefly (for just a minute or two), and less acutely.

My dad won't drink moonshine whiskey because in his youth he knew (or at least knew of -- I'm not sure which) somebody who had gone blind from drinking it. "I can afford a bottle of Jack Daniels, son."

Thanks. That's intriguing. You probably are aware of "floaters" in the eyeball which are I think must be dead tissue of some kind which are floating around inside the eyeball fluid in front of the retina. When some of that passes near the center of vision, close to the retina, it can become visually noticeable. Maybe it was something like that? It would have to be a doozy of a floater to have that kind of a pronounced impact on your vision, but.... maybe?

And that would perhaps explain a possible tie to the silver.

Your opinion on that possibility is the most reliable. I'm not a real doctor, but I do play one on the internet.

It's happened in relatively recent memory in my neck of the woods. Made the news. It's a screamin' shame that some bozos or completely careless hacks would use the wrong alcohol.

It wasn't floaters (I got those). Floaters are to my ocular event what a mosquito bite is to getting hit with a 240 grain jacketed hollow point at 1850 fps.

I'm not a real doctor, either. But I do have an MBSCSDD degree.

It appears documented that CS can inhibit or destroy at least some forms of viruses. Obviously it's hardly been tested vs corona.

thanks for the good conversation(s) last evening

Oil - I grew up knowing WTI as light, sweet, crude.

CS - Joyce Riley and her Genesis Communications show The Power Hour made me aware of that and scores of other natural supplements that I use to this day. (Joyce's show was followed by Pharmacist Ben and then Alex Jones, which took up my mornings from 7 on.)

Today I'll call bio-alternatives.net and ask if CS "goes-bad." This quart has a use-by date of 2016 and who knows how long ago I got the stuff; I don't see how ionic water and silver can get funky, but I'll ask.

Wishing everyone here a blessed day.

That's a bit scary. I wouldn't drink home brew nothin'. And a few ounces. You never know what the concentration of metal is in a home made product.

Anyway, most all home brew is IONIC silver solution which can be effective topically - like on your skin - but which does absolutely nothing once taken by mouth because once it enters the digestive system, the concentration of silver IONS is overwhelmed by the chlorine in the stomach acid. Pure antimicrobial silver never enters the bloodstream.

A body is always better off buying real COLLOIDAL silver. In a silver colloid the particles measure in the hundredths of a micron. That's damned small but much larger than the infinitesimally tiny ions that a silver electrolysis outfit produces. These colloidal particles are large enough to survive the trip to the blood stream and act antimicrobially.

Real colloidal generators can be had on the internet. They cost a couple of hundred bucks, and they produce a product that you cannot get with 9V batteries or a simple power supply. (I've tried that.) I've been wised up by someone in the profession whose betters don't allow him to tout the stuff. Heh heh.

Do your own research. Cheers.

I wouldn't drink home brew nothin'.

I knew an old guy here in town that made his own colloidal silver.

He would sometimes get people visiting him who were deathly ill.

One woman had cancer and the doctors gave her 6 to 8 weeks to live. He poured a quart of the colloidal silver down her throat every day for a week. She went back to the doctor afterward and there was no trace of the cancer.

Colloidal silver even crosses the blood-brain barrier.

I have tried to make it at home but have not had any luck in doing it. You need to use distilled water in the recipe. ;)
