I wish I had gotten the tag number of that car one night out front with 2 black guys in it.

Me and a few buddies decided to get a head start on the block party a neighbor was putting in for his daughter that was turning 16. We had a case of beer and the tailgate down on the Blazer.

A car went by slow with 2 black guys in it. One of the guys with us said, "Niggers? What are niggers doing around here?"

They heard it and backed up. It turns out the cops were just up the street talking with the guy who was putting on the block party. They asked him what we were doing. He told them we were getting something from the truck. So they backed up and left.

When I saw that, I decided to call the bluff of the black guys, since they said they had something to blow our shit away.

I went in the house and got the Mini-14. I chambered a round when I came out the door. When they saw that, they floored it and got out of there. They even blew the stop sign at the corner to get away as quick as they could.

About a week or two later someone shot up the house. It was likely those two blacks.

I couldn't have lit them up that night since there were friendlies in the line of fire. And you can't really shoot when they are running away.

But this is great evidence that a gun in possession of the good guys is a solid deterrent. ;)
