A new pre-'65 quarter had 0.18084 ounces of silver in it, or 723.36 ounces per $1000 face value. Some PM dealers assume that circulated pre- '65 coins will have some wear, so they allow only 715 ounces per $1000 face value -- about 1.16% less than the new weight when new.

Assuming 0.715 ounces per face value dollar, then $155.80 / 7.15 oz. would be $21.79/oz. Quite a bit over spot!

FRN's ain't worth what they were then. Price of gold has doubled, and so has the price of everything else.

Dollar is worth a lot less now, I'm sure you've noticed. Pretty soon folks will be using dollar bills to wipe their asses, because TP will cost a lot more FRN paper.

I wouldn't consider below $2,500/oz now. I don't have the same need for throughput that the dealers do. I don't really hedge, I'm just waiting for XOM to drop their dividends like GM did today.

$200 over spot at TPM is about the same premium as what I quoted + it's fractional. It's a good deal, IMO.

Trade in those worthless dollars for gold & you'll feel a lot better having something of value.

The PTBs aren't done monkey-hammering PMs quite yet. JMHO, I'm trying to give you the best advice I can.

If you can afford to do it without making yourself or your family suffer, drop the hammer now.

If you're trying to get rich quick, ain't gonna happen. Look at when I bought Au @ $900 about 2009. I've lost my ass. I could supply you with all the Ag and Au you want in depth at less than market if I was willing to die. I'm just not ready to do that.

t takes $1.25 to make one ounce of 905 silver. so if I want to melt down $10 in silver quarters, I will get ($10 /$1.25 = 8 ounces at 90%) Next step, I remove the copper from 8 ounces of 90% silver. 8 X .9 = 7.2 ounces. Meaning that if I pay $155.00 for a $10 roll of silver quarters that I am paying $21.53 per ounce for the silver.

That might be if you melt them down. However, JM Bullion will buy your junk silver for fifty cents under spot. APMEX requests that you ask for a bid for your precious metals, but likely they are competitive with JM Bullion.
