All I can say is this, I was around in the 30's 40's 50's. long before DDT and pesticides were prevalent worldwide. One family member contracted it in North Africa in 1941, lifelong cripple.

Every member on this forum DOES NOT HAVE TO FEAR POLIO...BECAUSE OF A VACCINE....

We lived in fear every summer as it struck the young and healthy. All prayed for a vaccine. Sabin and Salk gave us such. ALL members here are worry free because of a vaccine.

Are you going to defend using lead in water pipes, too? Some of us have learned a few things since then.

DDT was invented in the 1880s. Arsenic was used as a pesticide before that. Pesticide use expanded rapidly in the 1920s with the "modernization" of agriculture. Chemical use grew more rapidly than knowledge of its effects.
