Great vid ! Carlin was a prophet and funny too ! (Serious prophets usually suffer a disastrous and untimely end).

He mentioned something about swimming in shit creating in him a great immune system. It struck me because as a kid I swam in a very polluted creek quite a bit and the results for me seem to be quite literally the same as he stated. I think he might actually have a point.

Yep... he and Dan Hicks were two of the best.

I don't know if you could call his end untimely...died at age 71 from heart failure after a long history of heart problems including three heart attacks, plus a lot of drug and alcohol abuse.

You know what? I did pretty much the same thing growing up. Spent summers on family's tobacco farm in Wolverine KY working my ass off. We'd take the cars to the semi polluted creek, go swimming...

Swam in the KY River too, but snakes were more worrisome than pollution. Went swimming in the Maumee River near Toledo, just as bad at the time...but growing up I had the usual measles and mumps and whatnot, but I've rarely had colds or flu. Did have pneumonia a couple of times though.

Maybe there is something to be said for swimming in shit.

I was swimming in a lake here in Texas a few years back and a dam moccasin chased me. Not kiddin. I'm a good swimmer and had about 30 yards on him so I beat him to shore.
