Minneapolis City Council Votes To Abolish Police Department
June 8, 2020
In a stunning harbinger of things to come across the country, on Sunday afternoon, amid calls for defunding police departments countrywide, the Minneapolis City Council members went one further, and announced their intent to disband the city’s embattled police department, which has endured relentless criticism in the wake of the police killing of George Floyd.

One black guy who was a Vietnam vet spent his life savings to open a sports bar up there. The looters burned it and then came back and tried to steal his safe. At least he was able to keep them from getting it. The poor guy was in tears. :-/

When I was at Northbrook they got caught with their pants down on April 15 snow storm. They only had two trucks set up. They were scrambling to put spreaders and plows on trucks. They had a couple of old tractors chained up in dump bodies to turn them in for scrap steel and credit on budget. They were plowing on Forestway Drive where the lagoons were. It was forest preserve property. Some guy jumped out of a car and snapped a picture of them.
They gave me a truck with a load of salt and a plow. They handed me a shovel and said, "Throw it where you need it." Work that banjo. And I had to go out on main drag (Willow Rd) between Toll Road and Sanders and do it. ;)

I lived in Chicago in '68 when MLK Jr. was killed.
Later on when working for State of Illinois, I worked with a guy that was a guard at the County Jail at that time.
He told me this one black guard since he had a good job was able to get a mortgage on a 4-flat. He lived on 2nd floor.
When the news hit that King had been killed, they cancelled leaves for all the guards. He opened the door to go to work and there was a black guy standing on the landing below. He was ready to light a Molotov Cocktail.
He said to him, "Whatchoo think you doing?"
The black guy said, "I'll show whitey. I'm gonna burn down this building."
The black guard pulled his pistol and killed him right where he was standing.
My friend said to him, "How are you going to explain that?"
The black guard said, "When they come along and pick him up, it's just another dead nigger."
The good blacks call the bad blacks niggers too. ;)

One time we were filling pot holes on Dundee Rd near Tri-State Toll Road overpass. I was in back up truck. Some guy hit the foreman's crew cab.
One of our guys was in back of pick up. He went flying up in the air.
Then the guy that hit the pick up hit one of our guys standing on left rear corner of materials truck. He got third and fourth cervical vertebrae crushed. I remember sitting with his Dad in ER at Northwestern Memorial Hospital downtown since they had the spinal unit.
His Dad was saying, "I begged him. Anywhere but the highway department." He could have gotten him a job with any state agency. But he wanted to be a Highway Maintainer.
Last time I saw him he was laid up in a house on Glenview Road in Glenview. He had full time nurse there. The doctors reduced his life expectancy to 10 to 15 years so he is likely not among the living any longer. This happened in late 80s. :-/

When James R. Thompson was U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Illinois, he cleaned up much of the corruption in the Chicago P.D.
His reward was being was being elected four times to a term lasting 14 years, from 1977 to 1991.
They also named the new State of Illinois building after him. It was a monstrosity with southwest facing glass and it overheated in summer, and was hard to keep warm in winter. ;)

No, that isn’t sarcasm.
Look: there is no such thing as a vacuum in nature. That is because, I’ve heard, natures abhors such things.
So when you create a vacuum of power by removing the police, someone is going to fill the vacuum.
And there are only two real candidates to do that, and neither of them is black people: they are right-wing whites and Mexican drug cartels.
Those are the two options for the future in a police-free America.
And I don’t think there are enough Mexicans in Minneapolis for them to become the dominant power on the street. It will just be right-wing white people. They will fly in other right-wing white people, and make the streets the most peaceful in America.
Finally, those retards that brought guns to the Michigan state house will have a quest in life. As stupid as I thought those guys were for bringing guns into the state house, or guns to lockdown protests at all, they will be fine at following orders and keeping order on the streets of Minneapolis.
But will that happen?
No, probably not. At least not right away. Probably some number of police will be left behind in Minneapolis, tasked with the single mission to prevent a new order from forming. That is, they will be tasked with enforcing chaos. They will be told to not police blacks and only police whites who defend themselves from blacks, and it will basically become a living hell.
That is obviously the plan.
However, in the longer run, this plan to abolish the police is good for the people, as eventually, there won’t be enough police to enforce the chaos, and order will start to take shape.

It is a long time since I was up to Twin Cities. I went up there a few times when driving big truck out of Chicago.
Sometimes I would take I-90 across to stay away from the scale at Menominee, Wisconsin since it was such a bitch to get thru there.
One time I brought a conveyor system up there. I had to strap it into the trailer since regular load locks would not work to hold it in place. ;)

Not really. That's life. I knew the streets like the back of my hand from making flower deliveries as a young man.
When they had deliveries for the projects like Cabrini-Greene they would send it with the delivery service since those guys were all Mexicans. They carried knives and the blacks would not mess with them since a knife cut leaves a pink scar.
One time they missed one and I had to take it. I was in 6th floor. I took the elevator up and the stairs down and left to a chorus of Rhinestone Cowboy since I was wearing that old wool felt hat. ;)

Those KC-135s were only built for 10 years, from 1955 to 1965. There were 803 of them built. They are being used by four primary users,
United States Air Force
French Air Force
Turkish Air Force
Singapore Air Force
So I would say they must do an awful lot of repairs and upgrades as needed. Machines wear out after extended usage. ;)

The conveyor system was on wheels so we unstrapped it and the crew up north rolled it off.
It was not as bad as hauling those big spools of cable to power companies. We used load locks front and back and then nailed 2x4s on both sides to keep them in place.
After those big spools I had a load of Maurice Lenell cookies on slip sheets. Those were very heavy paper. We had to inspect the inside on trailer deck for nails since those would poke holes in the boxes on bottom. I found a few and pulled them out with vise grips. ;)

What difference would it make how the protection is funded? Through fines or direct taxation makes no difference. (The police, incidentally don't write parking tickets, etc., in black neighborhood because they can't collect.)
