I agree and I have a hunch a lot if not most American blacks would feel the same. Has anyone asked them?

I'm old enough to disbelieve any published survey results.

Years ago a survey gal called me and started asking what was my favorite fast food restaurant?, least favorite?, etc. She was polite, pleasant, and perky, so I played along. Then I said, "Please ask me about gun control."

"Gun control?"

"Yes, gun control. Nobody ever asks me about gun control; they always ask somebody else. Please ask me what I think about the government regulating and restricting the ownership and use of guns."

"Oh, sorry sir. I'm just calling to ask about your fast food preferences."

Another time a guy called and asked whom I was planning to vote for in an upcoming election: "Are you voting for Candidate A? or Candidate B?"

"Neither; I'm voting for myself."

"I mean which REAL candidate are you going to vote for -- A? or B?"

"I AM A REAL CANDIDATE. My name is first on the ballot statewide. Why aren't you asking people if they're going to vote for me?"

"You're a candidate? Hold on a minute..."

After a minute or two he came back and robotically stated "Since you are a candidate I cannot continue this survey." He never answered my question; just hung up.
