FDR knew what he was doing when he embargoed oil shipments to Japan. He knew it would slip he noose around Japan's neck and it would tighten as the years passed. Japan was already at war in China in 1931.

Today Japan gets all of the oil that comes off the Alaska Pipeline. ;)
