I'm a member of the Winnebago Sioux tribe.

I've been to pow-wows in the past and have my rigging in the basement. Yes, very colorful.

I planted grass (reclamation) on 3 Wind Farms just outside of Laredo. One town near the Wind Farm had a place set aside for Indian Peyote Rituals and on occasion the Indians would set up Tee Pees for the weekend, and legally use Peyote. It was interesting. The entire Laredo area is very interesting and the people almost always Hispanic, are very warm and welcoming.

a small soft blue-green spineless cactus, native to Mexico and the southern US.Also called mescal.

a hallucinogenic drug prepared from peyote, containing mescaline.

Mescal tequila is also made from the same cactus. ;)

I almost mentioned that the area where the Tribes meet for the rituals is also one of the few places the peyote (cactus) grows.
