When I was a young man in Chicago making deliveries for the florist shop, we witnessed a purse snatching about a block from the shop.

We chased the guy with the purse down the alley behind the shop. He cut thru a gangway so we had to bail out of the van and chase on foot. I caught him in a quarter block by his sweater and threw him to the ground.

The guy that was with me in the delivery van came up and pulled an 11 inch butcher knife from the waistband of his pants.

Chicago P.D. gave me a Police Citizens Award for catching him. That was in a dresser drawer when my furniture disappeared from the house in Golden City. :-/

I am lucky to remember this. Afterward in the flower shop a cop came in and asked what his accomplice was wearing. We told him so I guess they were looking for him.

One guy pushed the old lady and the other grabbed her purse. ;)
