If you give people a chance, you find that almost all of them have a redeeming quality even Bill de Blasio. It turns out he has a sense of humor:
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) held a news conference to brag about reaching a monumentally low level of prisoners in the citys jails on Thursday, after releasing inmates over concerns about spreading COVID-19.
During the fanfare of his news conference, de Blasio declared, We now have fewer people in our jails than any time since [World War II], and we are safer and better for it.
Those who arent rolling on the floor in laughter may require background:
Shootings in New York City are up 277% for the week compared to numbers from 2019.
On Monday alone, 17 people were shot across the city, 12 of them in Brooklyn. A high-ranking officer called those numbers astronomical for a Monday.
Recent victims of the crime wave include a 1-year-old shot and killed in Brooklyn on Sunday. Since black lives only matter when they die in confrontations with white police officers, de Blasio must have seen fit to indulge in gallows humor.
On a tip from Mr. Freemarket.

The police raided a house in Florida and found a false wall with home depot buckets behind it. The buckets were full of bundles of $100s. There must have been $20 million in those buckets.
It seems they got 90% of the cash back too. ;)
