When I was in local taxi once, we dropped off a girl at her home nearby. There was a social worker waiting for her to get home.

There was a good sized white pine near the house. She said her mother planted it 25 years ago.

Harold Washington was the first black Mayor of Chicago, After the election the blacks were still wearing Washington for Mayor buttons.

After the election, Vito Marzullo got up in city Council and said, "We don't need no Washington."

In other words things would work the same way they always had, with or without Washington.

My younger sister is dead from cancer before her 60th birthday. That happened a few years ago. Matter of fact, both my sisters were killed by cancer, the twin before the younger one. And both did not make it to 60. :-/

I work with a guy who got 10 years for molesting an underage girl. He did the whole 10. No time off for good behavior. I bet when the other cons found out why he was in there they wouldn't give him any rest. :-/

I forget the exact numbers, but I saw somewhere that something like 90% of violent felons had been abused as children.
