A new so-called wealth tax in California would send tax bills even to people who have moved out of the liberal state.

The Democrats’ proposal for “an annual tax of 0.4 percent upon the worldwide net worth of every resident in this state,” according to the text of AB 2088, which would create the tax on a vast list of untaxed assets California wants to tax.

The tax would target not only current residents but anyone who has what the bill classifies as wealth and who has lived in California any time in the past 10 years. It would use a sliding scale based on the number of years a taxpayer lived in the state.

I am not wealthy, but this proposition takes me up short.

Just think about where the bastards could take this.

Today it's Mark Zuckerberg. Tomorrow it is you and me.

It is no wonder at all that many people are pulling up stakes and leaving the United States entirely - a prospect not open to us all.

I am telling you, this is the wildest Californism we've seen lately -- and that's really something.

Can you or anybody you know deny that 'liberalism' is simply communism? In Irvington NJ years ago they passed a law that you had to paint your house before moving somewhere else.

When I room mated with my cousin in Illinois, when we moved out, the woman who was manager kept 25% of our security deposit. She told us we didn't paint the apartment before we left.

That was a lot of BS. When we cleaned up before turning in the keys, I picked up a business card off the floor in bedroom closet from the previous tenant.

And those buildings had flat roofs. Several of them would leak water when it rained, and the paint would slide off the wallboard.

We had to take them to court but we prevailed. ;)
