Great! I hope this bill is passed into law. It doesn't go far enough, though, because "assaulting a police officer" is still a felony charge. This just gives the sentencing judge the option of reducing the conviction to a misdemeanor.

Most or all states have special laws protecting the elites' Praetorian Guard; they make "assaulting a police officer" a serious felony. Forget about "equal protection under the law" -- cops are a lot more equal than you are. And the police state uses these unequal laws to keep us mere mundanes in our place, which is under the heel of our LEO masters' boots.

And it doesn't take much to get charged with "assaulting a police officer" -- any momentary lapse of abject obsequiousness will do it. Raise your hands when a cop is threatening to punch you in the face -- assault of a police officer. Any "contempt of cop" (as the late and very great William Grigg called it) -- such as an askance look -- will get you a Big Blue beatdown these days. And whenever the cops beat somebody down -- which is as often as they can get away it, and that's oftener and oftener these days -- they will always lie and say that you assaulted them and you will be charged with said felony. And a government-selected jury of Hero worshipers will convict you and ruin your life.

Who has ears to hear, let him hear.

I don't like living under police state rules any more than you do.

Years ago, I was enjoying a beer and a band in a cellar blues bar. Three cops came barreling down the stairs looking for someone. (Whom they never located, BTW.) The cop nearest me had an expression like he was ready to murder someone. I was standing up holding a drink, and this civil servant told me I hadda sit down while drinking it, so sit down and shut up. Which I did under protest, but I didn't like it one goddamned bit.

I hate this kind of bullying, but the again, the cops deal with the very worst of all of us. Armed drunks breaking restraining orders that have to be removed from old GF's premises. Stupids high on ecstasy or crystal driving around like idiots with knives and guns in their cars. Assholes that just love to fuck with authority.

Just this week, a lady was forcibly carjacked in my nice, nice neighborhood.

You can be certain that when far too many have turned the corner and be come wholesale dirtbags, the rest of us will steadily lose our liberties. That's the way that cookie crumbles.
