I've always hated Andy Williams, but I'd give anything to have him, PP&M et al back on the charts instead of the subhumans that fill it now. The days when 3 voices, 2 acoustic guitars and one acoustic bass could get you into the top 10!

Sounds like a great project, but as a rock musician you're sure to be professionally contributing to a deadly if mostly overlooked mass addiction: extreme volume levels. I googled for some of your lyrics -- they're miserable, obscure and rhymeless. Searched your album 'I the Mighty' in Youtube, and the first song video I tried was so repulsive in every possible way I couldn't even take a minute of it, and I'm a lifelong rock fan.

Best of luck with your crusade. But you, Sir, are doing with ROT MUSIC what Big Tobacco is doing with smoke -- feeding millions of people's depraved addiction to ANTI-CULTURE.

I had to quit rock in the early seventies for country music, and with Pandora, I now create my own playlist of the songs and the artists that I enjoy.

Early 70s, huh? What were the last acts you liked back then, what's in your playlists?

Pandora is wonderful. I'm trying to kick meself into creating a Live365 station of the good old sane pops, but to my shock you have to provide all the tracks yourself and prep each as needed. I always figured they'd make like the most popular 250 albums in each genre available for you to work from -- but no deal.

Great list, I was 12 when these songs were on the radio and have heard all of them. No Elvis hits in '63? That surprises me.

There's a high school near here with a low-power FM station that plays songs from 1955-1967 or so. Real deep playlist, no commercials, 24/7.

If it ain't country, it ain't music. But sadly, there ain't been much real country produced in the last 35 years or so. And what little bit of good country music that is made today ain't gonna get played on the radio.

I've probably listened to the radio an average of 10 minutes/year for the last 30 years. My ears and my brain can't take it.

The Who

We worked The Who in Chicago 5 or 6 times back in the 80s and 90s. It was usually a mellow crowd. After every show they had a free autograph session. Anyone that wanted an autograph could get one.

I told that story to them by email on the AXS channel. They sent me a message back, "Thanks for sharing that with us." ;)
