Jimmy Carter: My Son Smoked Pot at White House With Willie Nelson

Former President Jimmy Carter is revealing that one of his sons smoked pot with Willie Nelson at the White House.

Carter made his comments in a new documentary called: “Jimmy Carter: Rock & Roll President.” Entertainment Weekly posted a video except of Carter talking about the incident.

"When Willie Nelson wrote his autobiography, he confessed that he smoked pot in the White House, one night, when he was spending the night with me," Carter says.

"He said that his companion, that shared the pot with him, was one of the servants at the White House. That was not exactly true. It actually was one of my sons, which he didn't want to categorize as a pot-smoker like him.”

Carter, who has three sons, did not divulge the name.

But the Los Angeles Times said Carter’s son, Chip, was asked if it was him.

“My guess is it’s true” he said. “If you’re talking about me and Willie, he was my friend.”

Nelson recalled the episode in his memoir, "It's A Long Story," which was published in 2015.

"Getting stoned on the roof of the White House, you can't help but turn inward," he said.
