The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has removed an update on its website that stated coronavirus commonly spreads through the air, saying the post was shared by mistake.
A draft version of proposed changes to these recommendations was posted in error to the agencys official website, the organization wrote Monday.
CDC is currently updating its recommendations regarding airborne transmission of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes COVID-19). Once this process has been completed, the update language will be posted.
The CDC has contended in the past that COVID-19 is primarily transmitted through close contact between people.
