My thinking: the China virus was genetically engineered. This is what the Chinese scientist who defected a couple of weeks ago maintains (I still need to follow up and read her material; too much to read).
That's possible, but it doesn't equal pandemic or even epidemic. "A plague so terrible they have to test to see if you've got it".....
