How long have you used DDG and is there anything that you don't like about it, does it open new tabs when searching?

I've used FF for ages now, but's too dependent on GOOG.

Not really. It's a search engine and it's worked fine for the things I've searched on. I've wondered if its just a front end for google, but with what this woman found, I guess not. I'll only use google if I am unable to find what I need on DDG, which is extremely rare.

I used to use StartPage. They also advertise complete privacy.

What's FF? FireFox? That has nothing to do with search engines. you can choose any search engine you want with Firefox.
