Kyle Rittenhouse has been released from jail after posting a $2 million bail through his attorney, according to reports.

“[Rittenhouse’s] bond was posted this afternoon at about 2:00 pm which was set up through his attorney,” said Kenosha County Sheriff’s Sgt. David Wright Friday. “He is no longer in custody at the Kenosha County Jail.”

The 17-year-old was charged with killing two during the riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, last August in a shooting his lawyers say was self-defense.

The charges he faces are intentional homicide, reckless endangerment and being a minor in possession of a firearm.

Rittenhouse is due back in court on December 3rd for a preliminary hearing.

This story is developing.

Damn, look into that kid's eyes. Dou you see a cold-blooded killer?

The kid has some pretty decent tactical ability. If he doesn't end up in prison, I see a bright future future for him as a non-entity. He's already good at it.

I expect that he will go to prison for years. Since, in criminal trials, the courts do not allow the constitution to be mentioned in courts, he will be convicted of a minor in possession of a firearm or maybe jaywalking. The jury will not know that the judge can sentence him based on the charge with the maximum sentence which intentional homicide even though for that they jury will find him not guilty. Only afterwards, will the jury discover that what they though would be a fine for jaywalking carries a 10 to 20 year penalty since he was also charged with homicide.

I'm guessing they'll put a nice 'liberal' judgette on the case -- girls can be counted on to throw the book at anybody the media don't like.

I'm sure the will find the proper judge that will work with the prosecution and make 90% of the rulings to favor the prosecution. Not only that, but they will use the questionnaire sent out to prospective jurors to eliminate from the jury pool anyone that thinks for themselves and that can't be counted on to do their bidding. Then during questioning of those on the jury pool they will reject any of the 10%, the undesirables that might not vote guilty, that they didn't eliminate with the questionnaire.

Then if the jury only finds him guilty on the minor charge, the headlines will only say GUILTY and the number of years he is sentenced to prison. The press will hide from the public the fact that he wasn't convicted of homicide.

Much will depend on the instructions given to the Jury at the end of the trial.

But you also must realize that there is still the possibility of getting one or two Jurors on that panel who are able to think for themselves.

Dog said he knows the Prosecutor up there and he is typical of many around the country. All you need to do is think about the current States Attorney for Cook County, Illinois, Kim Foxx, to know what I am talking about. ;)

Even if somehow that happens, the judge can replace them like the judge did in the Martha Stewart case. The conviction rate is the US has been steadily rising since 1973. While in 1973 the conviction rate in the US was 75%, it rose to 85% by 1992. By 2003, that figure rose to a staggering 99% conviction rate, and as of 2015, the federal conviction rate in the United States was 99.8% percent. golookup.com/infohub/crim...tes-conviction-statistics

They don't get greater than a 99% conviction rate by having fair trials.

The questionnaire is used to select for the jury pool only those that are likely to vote guilty. The rioters are not despised by those selected to be on they jury pool; only by those not selected.

And 'a jury of his peers' is supposed to mean people who know you very very well. More or less works in an all-white society, not a jewed or 'diverse' one.

play nice

When I worked for State of Illinois, I also worked with a guy named Elijah. He was born in Montenegro. He told me once, "Don't be nice. Laugh like Dago." LOL
