Hope and cast were enroute to Japan/Korea lost engine at base I was at and had to remain overnight.

Hope told the CO open base theater and we will give impromptu show tonight. Word spread and the place had SRO. He told them, NO OFFICERS SITTING IN FRONT ROW SEATS.

ALL OF US JUST WANTED TO GO HOME.

We the children of the "Great Depression" fought WWII and Korea.
