The humpback whale was spotted off Pier 84 near the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum.

Usually not a good idea for whales to travel into the Hudson. Ones that have in the past have died.

The humpbacks have been feeding on menhaden all summer off Coney Island and Staten Island, and most likely the menhaden have been travelling up the Hudson.
