Wow, I looked them up on wiki, I'm afraid you are right. I was thinking they may have had some past treasure like "Carry on my wayward son", but, alas, that was Kansas. "Lorelie" was ok, but then they just got sad, doing stuff like "Mr Roboto". Just my opinion, I felt bad for Tommy Shaw in his struggle against Dennis DeYoung and his dinner theater bullshit, lol.

I know about nothing of the band's politics. I just always craved Come Sail Away. Great tune to blast away.
They had some other good tunes, but notably seemed to stay away from the usual sex themes that was normal for bands in the day. They did some romantic tunes, but but they even had one song criticizing beauty pageants. A rather aberration in that way, as a rock band that parents would have a hard time actually objecting to.
I remember my dad saying a couple times. "Some people object to rock music because they can't understand the lyrics. Others object to it because they can".
My dad was one to find such things objectionable, which was perhaps not so rare for a father, at least back then.
