This reminds me of going to church in Chicago. I played the organ in the chapel on Sunday. I did two masses and got paid $5 for each day. That was $20 or $25 depending on how many Sundays there were in a month.

But one time they needed an organist for a wedding. I was paid $50 alone for that gig and I got to play the pipe organ.

Not a bad deal for a grade school kid. ;)

At age 8 I worked in hay fields all day for 25 cents and my dinner.

Mans love for his fellow man was sorely tested.

You should've joined a circus.

The circus usually did have a Calliope. ;)

I can just imagine that. I bet the camaraderie was none too pleasant back during the Great Depression. :-/

I could have done that -- if the bride didn't mind marching down the aisle to Mary Had a Little Lamb played with one finger.
