The thing about crypto is that its borderless. You can send to anyone internationally, and anyone international can send to you. That makes KYC efforts a bit difficult.

Only with entities that demand/require it because of the jurisdiction they are in. If you find someone in Malaysia that wants to sell, you can by from them and then you have crypto.

As crypto itself is a currency, the ID requirement is only an issue when someone, somewhere exchanges fiat for crypto, and that's an inescapable loophole in the ID requirement. E.g. one person could buy a ton of crypto and comply with the ID requirement, then be a reseller to others that also want it.
