Assuming that means the "military" has become politicized and feminized, I agree 100 per cent.
Even in my time, seventy long years ago, I recall being told, "if the bell rings. you go and here is a .45 if you decide you need it".
No one hade any illusions about the verbal instructions.

On a different note, ESSO has been in traction and hospitalized for about a week. I was able to get a short response from him and don't know much but am hoping to get a more detailed response from him. I don't know if it's a good idea or not to contact him since he may be in a lot of pain. Pray for his recovery !

I worked with a guy who was relief forces at the Battle of Hamburger Hill. He told me a mortar round landed right next to him. It was a dud. I told him, "God had his hand on your shoulder."
His brother married an oriental woman. He said, "It's like a knife in my heart." :-/
I am praying for Esso now. ;)

Me too. I think he's suffered quite a lot.

They are the ones that will fight to the last drop of """YOUR""" blood.
I had nothing but disdain, contempt and hatred for most lifers. A few were happy go lucky drunks that found a home in the military.
Now with the pussifcation of the military, I hang my head in shame and cry for my comrades that were lost and forgotten somewhere out there.

If he is in traction he must surely have pain.
I suffered thru many back injuries working on State Highways in Illinois.
One time they sent me to the State doctor. I had been getting chiropractic treatments for the pain and muscle spasms I was experiencing.
He poked at my neck and said, "You don't need no more treatments. Take hot showers."
As soon as I walked out into the cold air I had a muscle spasm.
My lawyer said, "That guy wouldn't know a muscle spasm if it happened right in front of him." LOL

In the movie Animal House, at the end they said of the ROTC Commander, "Killed by his own troops in Vietnam". LOL

We got a new Lead Lead Worker at Northbrook yard. He said to me, "I'm going to run this yard just like the Army."
I said to him, "Yeah? Does that mean I can roll a frag under your desk?" LOL
