A senior Kremlin official today warned that if Russia is forced to defend its citizens in the disputed Donbass region it would be 'the beginning of the end Ukraine.'
Tensions have soared in eastern Ukraine in recent weeks after Vladimir Putin dispatched tanks, helicopters and thousands of troops to the Ukrainian border.
Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskiy flew into Donbass today in a new show of strength as he shook hands with soldiers along the frontier which separates them from Russian-backed rebels.

Ukraine wasn't even a country prior to the formation of the Soviet Union. Eastern Ukraine was carved out of Russia, and western Ukraine was carved out of Poland, Hungary, East Prussia, and Romania.
The western region was in the past known as Galacia. It is they who fought on Hitler's side in WWII. The Ukrainians in the west see a Nazi war criminal who served in the Ukraine SS, Stevan Bandera, as a national hero.
As far as Crimea, it's been part of Russia since the late 1700's just a few years after the birth of America..
It had been briefly moved administratively to the Soviet Republic of Ukraine in the 1950's, which didn't matter much at the time since it was still part of the same country, the Soviet Union.
The people there still were Russian, not Ukrainian.
When the Soviet Union collapsed and Ukraine declared themselves their own country, Crimea declared themselves to be independent of Ukraine and named the country the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
Ukraine ignored them however and would not recognize their independence.
The US forced Russia's hand in the US instigated coup against the elected government of Ukraine, where Russia wasn't about to give up the Black Sea fleet's home in Sevastopol Crimea.
A referendum was held where 94% voted to secede from Ukraine and rejoin Russia.
Russia quickly accepted their request.

Russia should be hated and called to account by the world for its international crime wave lasting most of the last century. But hey, the world is too busy stamping out "anti-Semitism" and hunting down 95-year-old "Nazis".
People went ga-ga for Gorbachev and now they're potty for Putin just because this KGB criminal acts more grown up than any American president (who doesn't!). They'll never learn.

Ukraine loosely translated means "border region".
The only folks who might identify as Ukraine are Galatians in the west.
They might have their own language, but they sure as hell weren't the victims in World WarII.
They committed genocide against Poles, wiping out entire towns.
As far as the Halomador you mention, what part of Ukraine do you think suffered the worse?
Did you miss the part that millions of Russians were killed?
As far as Putin, he was simply a KGB analyst, not a master spy or director, unlike poppy Bush.
Are you in agreement with the nutjobs who are pushing us towards nuclear war?

My point was that Russia and the Russian people took the brunt of the genocide perpetrated by the Bolcheveks.
They are no longer the communist USSR, the are a democratic republic, and probably less under the influence of a global cabal than we are, are probably more Christian, and vastly more free than China.
So what's your beef?

I don't know how he got his information, but he was right.
He also spoke about aliens. And I don't mean earth based foreigners.
