I don't think glyphosate in and of itself is that big of a deal, it's basically just a salt with a surfactant which is mostly inactivated once it hits the ground.
GMO crops that have been genetically modified to absorb and withstand Round-Up are a little different story. That's some bad-ass shit right there, brutha.
Another neat by-product of the GMOs was their ability to cross pollinate with invasive species of weeds, making them Glyphosate resistant also. That's one of the reasons that I spent a bunch of time planting grass on my gravel driveway. Thick enough grass will choke out a lot of weeds, kept my ground a lot cooler and made it easier easier on my and the dog's feet. Where the tires go, nuthin' grows. (Edit: I think I got that idea from the movie "Best Years of Our Lives" after WWII where driveways were two wheel tracks with grass in between. It's worked out good. Unfortunately the doggies had to get on with their lives. Think about standing on concrete in the sun and standing on grass.
There's some new weed that's shown up in the last few years or so, I don't know what it is, but it's bad. At least it hasn't crossed with the GMOs yet, but I'll bet it will.

Yes, but it's in conjunction with the GMO crops designed to absorb it. Not me spraying my fenceline.

I had heard there were three shiploads of GM grain off the coast of China. Chine turned them away.
It seems the Chinese are wise to the health hazards posed to animals that GM grain causes. ;)
