Its terrifying.
The Who legend Roger Daltrey says the woke generation is creating a miserable world that serves to stifle the kind of creative freedom he enjoyed in the 60s.
The iconic frontman made the comments during a recent appearance on Zane Lowes Apple Music 1 podcast.
I dont know, we might get somewhere because its becoming so absurd now with AI, all the tricks it can do, and the woke generation, said Daltrey.
Its terrifying, the miserable world theyre going to create for themselves. I mean, anyone whos lived a life and you see what theyre doing, you just know that its a route to nowhere, he added.
The singer noted how he was lucky to have lived through an era where freedom of speech was encouraged, not silenced.
Especially when youve lived through the periods of a life that weve had the privilege to. I mean, weve had the golden era. Theres no doubt about that, he said.
Daltrey also slammed the negative impact that social media has had on the world, saying it has undermined truth.
Its just getting harder to disseminate the truth. Its almost like, now we should turn the whole thing off. Go back to newsprint, go back to word of mouth and start to read books again, he said.
While Daltreys comments may not be mind-blowing, any celebrity speaking out against the mob that has cannibalized culture is something to be applauded.
Once again, this only tends to happen with older celebrities who have already passed their peak of fame and entered icon status. They are beyond cancellation.
For any up and coming celebrity, or even one who is at the top of their game, to question generation woke is career suicide.
Which makes it all the more ludicrous to continue to see identitarians, notably the LGBT movement, continue to claim they are fighting oppression when their mantras are echoed by every cultural institution, media outlet and corporate entity in the west, while anyone who utters a whimper of dissent is swiftly cancelled.
Poster Comment:
The classic pop and R&R stars were peecee when helped their careers (jew managers, producers, moguls) and just a few, only a few, are saying the unsayable in little bites now. I keep track of the artists that switch sides at whatever stage of their lives.
Never noticed it before but there's a link for comments on these Summit News pages, and other articles posted on each -- but I can't get the comments link to work. Here's the comment I would have posted there -- flipt out of English so as not to offend any Who devotees:
Это была группа, которую я называю «спортивной» - в их музыке было мало настоящей романтики или любезности, в основном она была шумной, гедонистической и грубоватой. Даже их приятный битлеский номер «Pictures of Lily» оказывается непристойным.
Аспект фальшивого мачо принял форму уничтожения гитар на их концертах, и «Группа снова совершила поездку по США с Эриком Бердоном и животными, включая появление на шоу The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, имитируя песни« I Can See For Miles »и« My Поколение ».
Конечно, You Better, You Bet очень цепляет ;)

'I'll never forgive Labour, they destroyed my mates' jobs': The Who's frontman Roger Daltrey blames immigration policy which left working class unemployed
I'm not going to get into a fight with you, NN, to defend the fucker, but not everyone is a fucking kike agent, right? Pete Townshend is a cunt, an Artsie-Fartsie piece of shit, but he wrote most of The Who's hits. Fuck it. :) Daltrey was one of us, he stood up for his (English) friends. That should count for something.

That song says a great deal -- too bad fans didn't listen and heed. Talk about the blind leading the blind?

I hate the sight of Steyn because you knew from the word go his only business is mind-messing the goyim -- 'steyn' obviously being some 'Stein' variant, mebbe Dutch.

We worked The Who several times back in the 80s and 90s. The shows were always at smaller venues and the crowd was generally well behaved.
After every show there was a free autograph session. Anyone that wanted an autograph could get one.
I saw The Who on the AXS channel. I sent them email telling this story. They replied, "Thanks for sharing that with us." ;)

Likely because they were already millionaires from playing in Britain and elsewhere in Europe. Fame has its advantages.
When we did shows on north side of Chicago at Rosemont, we would mess with the groupies. These were the people, mostly young ladies, who loved the band but did not have connections to get back stage passes.
First we would tell them, "We might be able to get you back stage." They would say,"Really?" Then we would tell them, "Yeah, and we might even let you speak into the microphone." And they would say, "Wow!" ROTFLMAO!

It still seems odd. Did any other top bands prefer smaller venues? I mean it's fine with me -- smaller is better. But of course they were all about the moola, as much of it as could be cadged as possible.
