When we were at Northbrook Hwy yard we had a foreman named Lindwall. He was an ex Marine and was on Iwo Jima. He would tell us, "Let's go down to the end of the runway and catch some jet blast." since the Glenview Naval Air Station was there at the time.

We would also go in the Navy base to eat lunch once in a while. The Swabies had some good food. All we had to do was show our State I.D. and we could eat as contractors. ;)
