After Biden cut the Keystone XL pipeline and the border wall construction, the wetbacks were coming across between the rebar where the wall construction stopped.

They tried to reinforce that bridge

That seems much like when a section of the local lanes of I-90/94 on near south side of Chicago dropped about a foot. This happened between 18th St. and 35th St.

This is one of those old stories I am lucky to recall. I do not remember why that collapse occurred. ;)

You need to ultrasound your head, cousin. It's supposed to rattle those memories loose.

This afternoon at work there was a western playing on the TV. A couple of cowboys were playing chess.

That jogged a very old memory from High School. I was playing chess and sacrificed my Knight. Then I took the other guy's Queen. You should have seen the look on his face. LOL

Des Moines Register

We worked stage security for Garth Brooks at Iowa City, Iowa in 1996. I was standing on front of Stage Left.

People were bringing up gifts for Garth and we would place them on the corner of the stage.

Garth came over to pick up some of the gifts. He whacked me in the hat with the head of his guitar. That was when they took the picture that ended up on Page One, Section Two of the Des Moines Register.

I opened to hotel room door the morning of the 2nd show to get breakfast. The door across the hall was open. There was a girl in there. When she saw me she started pointing and shouting, "IT'S YOU! IT'S YOU!"

She came running out holding the paper and pointing at it, still shouting, "IT'S YOU! CAN I HAVE YOUR AUTOGRAPH?"

I signed the paper for her. Then she asked if her BF could come down to the corner of the stage to take a picture. I said he could, but just to get my attention.

We went downstairs and cleaned out the paper machine.

During the show, I looked to my left and that guy was motioning to come down. I waved him down and looked away. When I looked back, the cop was hustling him up the stairs. He came down and almost knocked the cop flat. The cop threw him out.

Someone let him back in. I said to him, "Listen, I said you could come down and take a picture. I didn't say you could be drunk." LOL

When we got back to Chicago at the next concert, I handed a copy to one of my supervisors. Danny, the boss said, "Tex, this is neat. I'm going to cut it out and hang it in the office." ;)

Ever save a life at a show?

At Woodstock 94, the first day I was at the TV tower. This guy was body surfing. The crowd was thinning and he was going head first for the corner of a barricade. I took two giant steps and gave him a straight arm in the head. He went down. I leaned over the barricade and said, "Hey man, are you ok?" He gave me the thumbs up and said, "Yeah man, cool." ;)

Were you in on tackling the Green Day bassist?

No, Green Day played on the B stage. It was smaller and at ground level. I never had a chance to get over there. I think it was the Green Day drummer who got his arm broken.

One morning they called us in early because the bands started early. We got in there and this guy had his GF on his shoulders right down front. They were telling him get her down and he wouldn't do it.

There were these two old hippies who were at the first Woodstock down front. I told them, "spread out. I'm coming in." I jumped into the crowd. Meanwhile one of the guys grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her off his shoulders.

I circled around in the crowd. He was taking off for the mosh pit. I grabbed him by the wrist before he got in there. I reeled him in and threw him against the barricade. I put my hand under his behind and boosted him up. then the guys grabbed me and pulled me out.

Then someone threw a wad of muddy straw and hit me in the face. there was a black guy hosing down the crowd. I tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and hosed me off.

I saw that black guy again in 1996 at Lollapalooza in Des Moines. He was on the crew cart. When he saw me he stopped the cart, jumped off and ran over to give me a big hug. He said, "How ya doing?" He remembered me. And I am very lucky to remember that because of the meningitis that wiped out so much memory. ;)
