With the US Mint admitting that there’s actually a “global silver shortage,” it makes you wonder if this scheme is close to the end of the road.

Calling it a "premium" implies the spot price is legit, which it isn't. The "premium" price should be called the spot price, and the spot price called the "manipulated" or "suppressed" price.

Yes, and those "premiums" always apply only when a mundane is buying, never when he's selling. Call any PM dealer who's selling at a $6 premium, and ask him if he'll give you $5 over spot for your silver. He'll laugh at you.
