They still conduct the Knob Creek Machine Gun Shoot every year. This year it will be October 8-9.

Interesting things posted on that site that remind me of working security at Woodstock 94. ;)
"Daily tickets are $15/general admission, $10/member and $5/child (12 and under).
NO loaded Firearms of any kind may be carried on Knob Creek property during the Machine Gun Shoot. All Firearms must be declared and zip- tied with magazines out at the admission gate.
NO alcohol or drugs allowed on the property. People under the influence will not be allowed to shoot or purchase and will be asked to leave."
At Woodstock 94 we had to be in there the first night because they opened the gates and the crowd was coming in. These three guys were drunk and got in the wheel chair potties that were fenced on three sides. They could figure out how to get out, so they climbed on top of one of the potties and jumped the fence.
One guy broke his ankle. I think that was the last time they could get an ATV in there. His friends were telling him, "Don't worry. We will sell your ticket."
Then another day some guy made an announcement, "Don't eat the green dots." It was bad acid and people were freaking out. LOL
Then one day at end of shift I came in and sat down to eat dinner. there was a Vendor sitting across the table. He said, "Buddy, you look like you been thru the war."
I replied, "You know something?I feel like it."
We had this green canvas bag that held out cots. We used them like didi bags and would carry some fruit into the venue. One day there was a guy handing out apples. I said to him, "Give me another apple."
He said, "No."
I said, "Give me another apple or I will take you out behind this tent and kick your ass."
He said, "There ya go."
I told that story on Facebook and this Marine gave me "thumbs up".LOL

I have a buddy who goes to Knob Creek every year to shoot machine guns. He is a manufacturer so he has the permits needed to own them.
I asked him once, "Where did you get the money to start that business?"
He replied, "Good fellas."
He took a loan from the mob. He must have paid them off since he is still healthy and above ground. LOL

My local ND Admin must not have caught the implications of my remark about a certain poster being an Affirmative Action Rhodes Scholar. :)

When we started Nextdoor, it was apparent that despite technologys ability to connect people and communities virtually across the globe, in actuality people had become more disconnected, especially in real life. This inspired us to think: what if we could leverage technology to enable real-world connections? What if Nextdoor could become a place where neighbors can naturally come together to help make their local communities better? Today, relationships sparked on Nextdoor connect millions of people back to the original social network their neighborhood.
Nextdoor is where you go to connect to the neighborhoods that matter to you. Now, millions of neighbors in more than 275,000 neighborhoods around the world turn to Nextdoor daily to receive trusted information, give and get help, and build real-world connections with those nearby neighbors, businesses, and public services.
Our neighborhoods arent just where we live, theyre an essential part of who we are and how we connect to those around us. In West Adams, California, Jamiah organized a crop swap for local gardeners to exchange homegrown food. In Berwick, Australia, Delene invited neighbors to a monthly breakfast club, which resulted in countless friendships. In Pickering, Canada, high schooler Christy launched a homemade soap company on Nextdoor and quickly sold over 500 orders to her neighbors. And in Grant Park, Atlanta, Dawn was able to spread the word about her small business and offer free delivery of her beloved cupcakes to nearby neighborhoods. What connects all of us at Nextdoor is our purpose to cultivate a kinder world where everyone has a neighborhood they can rely on.
Today, I am thrilled to share an important milestone on our journey as we take a step toward becoming a public company. This process will further enable our purpose and accelerate our plans to support you in building stronger, more vibrant, and resilient neighborhoods. You can learn more here. We are also proud to announce the launching of the Nextdoor Kind Foundation, which will be dedicated to making local grants to help neighbors strengthen their neighborhoods.
Thank you for your role in this journey. Without you we would not have been able to achieve this milestone. Thank you for sharing your stories, starting important conversations in your community, connecting with those around you, and showing us what it means to neighbor.
Connect to your neighborhood
Sarah Friar, CEO of Nextdoor

This is something I posted on ND. Several people were upset by this. Damned fools are incapable of reading comprehension, apparently.

She wants to build "more vibrant" neighborhoods. "Vibrant" is libspeak for blacker neighborhoods. And "vibrant" doesn't comport with "resilient", as a white neighborhood made vibrant is unlikely to recover from such a benefaction.
