Translation: For $250,000 you get nothing but a digital image. Tells you a lot about the modern world. Never would have happened back in the day, even for $50.

One can think of it as each NFT being a unique crypto currency but which has only a single coin in circulation that can't be divided, or can be divided but only into an extremely few number of pieces.

I don't get it. I think it's a passing gimic fad thing.
