Maybe it's a limited thing that only rules on the injunction, but which doesn't rule on the case itself, should it be appealed to the USSC.

Apparently each of the 9 justices is assigned one zone of states for such matters, and this case fell within Barrett's assigned area.

The entire court may , or may not, agree to review the case. Much of this is up to John Roberts, the Chief Justice.

But these Supreme Court filings are very costly.

To file a case interstate in federal court the claim needs to be $75,000 minimum value. ;)
