Man convicted of assassinating RFK in 1968 is set for release next year after Kennedy's sons backed him
Robert F. Kennedy's assassin was granted parole Friday after two of RFK's sons spoke in favor of Sirhan Sirhan's release and prosecutors declined to argue he should be kept behind bars.
The decision was a major victory for the 77-year-old prisoner, though it does not assure his release.
The ruling by the two-person panel at Sirhan's 16th parole hearing will be reviewed over the next 90 days by the California Parole Board's staff.
Then it will be sent to the governor, who will have 30 days to decide whether to grant it, reverse it or modify it.

Sirhan did not kill RFK. Sirhan was in front of the candidate. RFK was shot in the back. The only person behind Kennedy close enough to give powder burns and fire at an upward angle was an ex-cop kicked off the LAPD for corruption.

18 USC § 925(a)(1) exempts military and police for felony convictions but not for convictions of misdemeanor crimes of domestic violence. This is known as the “law enforcement anomaly,” a kissing cousin of the “misdemeanor paradox.” As explained, in graphic terms, directly in the US Attorney’s Manual:
any member of the military or any police officer who has a qualifying misdemeanor conviction is no longer able to possess a firearm, even while on duty. We now have the anomalous situation that 18 USC § 925(c) still exempts felony convictions for these two groups. Thus if a police officer is convicted of murdering his/her spouse or has a protection order placed against them, they may under federal law, still be able to possess a service revolver while on duty, whereas if they are convicted of a qualifying misdemeanor, they are prohibited from possessing any firearm or ammunition at any time.
Thus, if the cop has been terminated for official corruption he loses the right to carry a firearm. ;)

I owned firearms in Chicago.
On one occasion the cops raided my house. They found the pistols I had at the time. I had to hire a lawyer. He got me off. The Judge ruled "No probable cause". And I got the pistols back simply by showing they were registered with the city.
They were supposed to have a cop escort me off the court room premises but none were available. The cop behind the counter in the evidence room asked me if I was going right home. I told him I was. He allowed me to leave with those few pistols in a brown paper sack.
I would say he was really cool. They had metal detectors back then also so no way to get in even with a folding knife in your pocket. ;)

I knew a guy that had a bit part in Above the Law.
He told me Seagal was supposed to pull the punch but he really knocked him down with a punch to the Solar Plexus.
That works like a charm since it knocks the wind out of you. I did that to some guy at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago. There was no mosh pit at the Aragon since they had chairs at that time.

Then later on, Big Bob, my aisle partner had this kid by the throat that was goofing around down front. He was walking him up the aisle.
When he got to the back, he turned him loose. Then he turned go go up front. The kid got behind him and was waving his hand behind his head.
He didn't see me coming up from behind. I grabbed his clothes and pulled. I pivoted and threw him. He stayed on his feet and slid since the floor was wet. The crowd at the end of the aisle did the Red Sea Effect. He was flying and they didn't want to get creamed. He must have slid 10 feet back into the crowd,
Then that guy I hit in the Solar Plexus told him, "Hey man, watch out for that guy." ROTFLMAO!

I learned real quick about how fags are when working for the gay florist in Chicago. Myself and the other delivery guy were the only straight ones in the place. My Dad called them "fairies".
After I started working on Illinois State Highways in 1980, I was in The Brothers Tavern for a coupe of beers after work.
