Earlier: A Former Border Patrol Agent Reports, With Picture, On The THOUSANDS Of Illegals Thronging To The Southern Border

The border between Mexico and the state of Texas is 1,242 miles long, from Brownsville on the Gulf of Mexico to El Paso deep inland, where the state of Texas meets the state of New Mexico. The entire border, all twelve hundred miles, is formed by the Rio Grande river.

About halfway along that border on the Texas side is the town of Del Rio, population 35 thousand, eighty percent of them declaring themselves Latino. Largest employers: a U.S. Air Force base and a prison.

Across the Rio Grande from Del Rio, in Mexico, is the town of Acuña, which is much bigger—four times the population of Del Rio. I imagine the proportion of Acuñans declaring themselves Latino is very close to a hundred percent, but I can’t find confirmation of that.

If you drive from Mexico into Texas, there’s a fine expressway over the river that eventually becomes U.S. Route 277. The expressway is elevated across the river of course, then continues to be elevated for the first half mile or so into Texas.

Then you come to an official Port of Entry, with a CBP [Customs and Border Protection] station that will process your entry into the U.S.A.

Should you choose not to drive, and so long as the Rio Grande is running low, you can wade across from the Mexican side to the Texas side [Migrants at Texas bridge pose challenge for Biden, Irish Times, September 17, 2021]. That is, you can walk into the U.S.A. Once in Texas, if the sun is really hot you can walk in the shade under the expressway.

You can’t walk far, though. A couple of hundred yards into Texas you come to a chain-link fence patrolled by CBP. So you’re stuck there between the river and the fence, in the shade of the expressway overpass if you’re lucky, otherwise on the bare sandy earth nearby or the adjacent scrub.

Well, yeah. It's been going on for awhile, but my breaking point was when they wanted me working in this country. I'm a pretty decent mechanic and a driver now. As far as my past life, JFK will tell you the rest of the story.

How the hell do those kids make the boards jump up without being strapped to their feet?

I'm hypnotized by your name.

(Edit) You know what city that is? Doesn't ring a bell with me, but Bidet gave me Alzheimer's from sniffing my head.

This current regime is totally fubar.

It looks like Abbott is sending troops to the area. I think he should request the civilian population to enlist and be armed/deputized to stop this invasion.

These Haitians didn't have the ability to transport themselves here so we know someone or some entity is paying the freight. 100,000 Texans guarding the border would send a message that we don't give a shit about the politics being demonstrated and cannot accept the illegals from anywhere. Our immigration laws must be enforced regardless if the situation that has caused these poor wretches to think we're their new benefactors.

We should help the people that have tried to find a better way to live but allowing them to saturate and destroy small towns on the border is a fucking failure of both the FEDERAL and State governments. If they won't uphold the law then it's the duty of real Texans and other Americans to put a real halt to this bullshit.

Actually, the need to do things ourselves has been screaming at us for at least 75 years. The rigged elections have been keeping the moldy and useless parasites in various high offices in both State and Federal governments. I think we've played nice for far too long and waiting for another fraudulent selection is simply not addressing the problem but instead condoning it.

Everybody wants to kill somebody. It's not all it's cracked up to be.

When I lived in Chicago, I walked into the back yard of some people I knew about a block away from my place.

I heard a commotion back in the alley. I walked back there and a few guys were beating the crap out of some kid. The last thing I saw before stopping it was one of the guys jumping on this kids chest while he was on the ground.

I stopped it right then and there. I said, "He's had enough."

The next thing you know 20 or 30 guys walked into the end of the alley and the fight was on.

They got me in a circle. I took some hard bruising, but I knocked one guy flat and stepped on him on the way out of the circle.

I got a lot of respect from those people after that night.

God bless Mayor Bilandic for giving us those galvanized garbage can lids with handles. It made a perfect shield. ;)
