That is what happened when the members of the southern states walked out of Congress in 1860. Congress was then adjourned sine die, or without day.

Lincoln did the right thing to try to bring the rebellious states back into the Union.

The southern states walked out over States rights. Slavery was not an issue until Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, and this only freed the slaves in the rebellious states.

Even though our opinions on that matter might differ, I still stand by what I have said. ;)

I do not get involved in domestic disputes of any kind.

One time I was visiting this couple I knew that were neighbors. She said something to him, and he decked her.

She started pleading with me and I said, "I'm not getting in the middle of this one."
